THE EXPERIENCE THAT GIVES ME JOY TO SHARE WITH YOU
"We begin to set aside some time each day to deliberately slow down our activity, finding a more natural pace⦠that more relaxed pace allows us to reflect rather than react, to soften rather than harden, to see clearly how things are instead of dwelling on the past or worrying about the future.
By practicing Yoga, we achieve these things by simple means.
The practice of the positions makes us release tensions that have accumulated in the body over time; it sharpens the senses making us sensitive, adaptable, resistant. At the same time we reacquaint ourselves with the cyclical nature of the breath... we learn to inhale fully and to open ourselves to new experiences; we learn to exhale completely and let go of superfluous and past tensions and we learn to rest in the breaks.
We awaken to what is really happening here and now, we notice that in between, beside and through all of our daily experience, there is something immutable to rely on...it is this silent background that flows through everything that provides us a tangible thread of connection between the apparently most disparate elements.
Finding that thread and abiding in the state of connection are all marks of the yogic experience."
